The European Cup of Clubs padel 2021 will be great!

Difficult to project ourselves for the moment with the European health crisis. But if everything gets better, the European Cup of Clubs padel 2021 could well blow out its 4th candle in Malaga, Andalusia from May 20 to 23.

Bring together clubs from all over Europe

Let us remember, in 2016, in Malaga, in the south of Spain, the project of the European Association of Clubs of Padel. The ambition is crazy, explains its President Claude Baigts: “Bring together every year, in a competition, clubs from all over Europe"

For 3 years, this ambition has turned into reality. And even more! Since the European Cup of Clubs has opened its doors to clubs beyond Europe.

Claude Baigts tells us about this adventure:

THEREssociation European of Clubs of Padel "AECP" organizes annually since 2017 a competition bringing together European clubs and since 2019, it invites African clubs.

A European Cup that travels

Each year the competition changes city and host club. It's part of the DNA of the European Cup. And players and clubs are obviously present.

In 2017, the European Cup begins its adventure in Toulouse Padel Club, one of the lungs of the padel French with its 8 participating clubs. The host country will win this first. And the TPC now has 12 padel ! What a journey!

In 2018, head for the French capital: Paris and the 12 Casa courts Padel. After a great competition, it's Casa Padel which gets its hands on the Cup despite a strong presence of European teams (12 clubs).

In 2019, Valencia will welcome the 16 participating clubs for the 3rd edition of the competition with a first victory for a Spanish team in this European Cup with the 7 Padel/ Kelme.

In 2020, we were to take the direction of Malaga. The competition was to bring together 24 European clubs. But the edition will be canceled due to COVID-19.

The EACP therefore postpones this competition to 2021 from May 20 to 23.

4th edition of the European Cup

The words of the President of the EACP are strong:

With the help of the whole team, we can already tell you that 2021 will be a very great year. We put the small dishes in the big ones. We will perform the competition in an exceptional outdoor setting.

A site which already hosted at the time international events including the Padel Pro Tour (Name of the former professional tour of padel).

Clubs from all over Europe will therefore be present at the Malaga Club Léon 13. 24 clubs will be expected.

An evolving regulation

In each edition, there are more clubs of padel at the European Cup of Clubs. And it's a good thing.

This is why the EACP is changing the regulation.

Sports regulations is adjusted each year to take into account the number of clubs, always expanding, the number of pitches and the duration of the competition.
A club is thus represented depending on the edition by 1 or 2 men's teams and 1 women's team.

The organizers provide a minimum of 5 matches per player.
For the 2021 edition, the date chosen is May 20-21-22-23 and each club will present 1 women's team and 1 men's team.

The meetings between the clubs include: 1 lady match + 1 male match + 1 mixed match.
A club delegation will have 2 players + 2 players + 1 coach = 5 people.
We all participate in making Padel a team sport through the clubs which are the glue of our passion sport.
