The "Ryder Cup of padel “, also known as “America vs Europe” is at least postponed. A date would be considered for January 2024, but if that does not work, we will simply head for a cancellation.

Initially scheduled from August 8 to 10, the competition organized by entrepreneur Lisandro Borges must be postponed, due to “unforeseen and irresistible circumstances”.

This event, which was to be held in Chile in a few days, took an unexpected turn, as indicated by the organizer on social networks. The precise causes have not yet been revealed.

As a reminder, the “America vs Europe” competition, the first edition of which took place in Sweden, is one of the tournaments organized by Lisandro Borges, the promoter of the World Padel Tour (WPT) in Latin America. Borges had also managed to register the second edition of America vs Europa on the official calendar of the WPT.

The competition was taking shape with the announcement of the players who were to make up the two teams. Among them, the Frenchman Benjamin Tison who came to defend European chances alongside Alex Ruiz, Javi Garrido and Mapi Alayeto.

If this is bad news for some, for others, this suspension of the tournament is perceived as a slight reduction in the competition calendar. Thus, the players will be able to take a real break after the Premier Padel Mendoza P1, which ends on August 7. Competition will resume at the end of August with the WPT Finnish Open.
