What if the P25s were the tournaments par excellence for clubs and players from padel ? Jérôme Bécasset, the tournament manager of padel à Mind Padel, gives us his opinion.

We should talk about it more!

“I think it deserves more media focus on the P25 events in France. There is a state of mind that is specific to this sport.

I have the impression that we lose it a bit when we find ourselves in P1000s for example. The competition part takes precedence over the rest, so you shouldn't be mistaken either: it's still amateur for players who are more gifted, more efficient and with more experience. And I have the impression that we sometimes forget the essential.

What pays off for players and clubs alike are the small categories. P25 is an event approved by the FFT, and it helps to spice it up.

But in reality, when we offer “fast and furious” or even climbs / descents, success is always there. And the players want more. The most important thing is not the competition, but this convivial part which is the DNA of the padel".

The P25s: jam-packed

“At the club, for example, we often do P25s. I take 24 pairs between noon and 19 p.m., and it doesn't stop playing. We are also obliged to refuse people as these competitions are appreciated. There will be nearly eight confrontations with short formats. Players spend more than 3h30 on the slopes in total! This format promotes encounters with different opponents. And we arrive at a homogeneous and satisfying competition for all levels of play.

And the 3rd half is obviously part of the tournament.

So I say always and no more P25!”

Besides Spirit Padel will offer a P25 on February 11 and Jérôme Bécasset himself will write you his column on “the interior of a P25″… Attention, sensitive souls refrain.
