The sports center on the island of Puteaux, in Hauts-de-Seine, is definitely a real headache! What a waste of time for all those involved who have repeatedly encountered the administrative jungle in the hope of providing quality infrastructure.

However, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. Last Tuesday, the Paris Council approved a public service delegation contract with Soccer 5 France (Urban Soccer) for the operation of the Puteaux sports center.

For us, and for many stakeholders interested in the subject, Urban Soccer fully deserves its DSP. But after a marathon journey, this victory could however arouse some discontent, notably from a certain Jamel Debbouze, judging by the tweet from journalist Éric Bassi.

A look back at nearly 10 years of procedures linked to this sports area.

A project padel from 2014 in Puteaux

In 2014-2015, a project padel is envisaged: four plots of land padel semi-indoor on an unused portion of the sports center. Faced with obstacles considered too important, too complicated and an administration considered too slow, the project leaders end up giving up. However, the joint equipment management company was favorable to this investment at the time. Insufficient.

The CNE Padel...

In October 2019, the FFT informed us of the creation of the CNE Padel on the island of Puteaux. The Paris Council confirms this information by choosing the group formed by the FFT and Urban Soccer.

Change of course for the FFT

In 2022, the FFT announces the abandonment of the ambitious project providing for 14 trails padel, initiated by the first elected official in charge of padel within the FFT, Hubert Picquier. Several reasons explain this decision. Ultimately, the FFT finally turns to a project padel more modest.

Urban Soccer at the finish!

The Paris Council finally approved last Tuesday a DSP contract with Soccer 5 France (Urban Soccer).

We are awaiting details of the project.

We promise: we're investigating!
