Following the loss in the quarter-finals of Cordoba FIP Rise against the Argentinians Valenzuela and Montesi, Wendy Barsotti looks back on the overall performance of the tournament, which she played as always with Élodie Invernon.

“We mastered our first round, before facing the Catalans Llobera and Cano. We had a pretty solid match, in perfect conditions. We were good, quite calm, we put our game in place and we knew how to be solid until the end.

In the last match, we faced the Argentines Montesi, who we had already faced in Sicily, and Valenzuela, who played the Worlds in Dubai. We lose in three sets after winning the first set 6/3. We lose the second set 6/3 of a break and we get broken at 4 everywhere in the last round.

We discussed it with Élodie yesterday, it comes down to a lot of details, “punto de oro”, feedback that we give a little easily, faults that make the difference in matches like this.

It remains a positive tournament, with good matches, we now know what remains to be worked on.”

The continuation for the duo Invernon / Barsotti, it will be perhaps on the side of Roland-Garros, tournament for which the two players hope to have a wild-card.
