There are 9 game formats for FFT-approved competitions in 2023:
- A1 size: 3 sets to 6 games.
- A2 size: 3 sets to 6 games, decisive point.
- Size B1: 2 sets to 6 games; 3ᵉ set = super decisive game at 10 points.
- Size B2: 2 sets to 6 games, decisive point; 3ᵉ set = super decisive game at 10 points.
- C1 format: 2 sets to 4 games, deciding game at 4/4; 3ᵉ set = super decisive game at 10 points.
- C2 format: 2 sets at 4 games, decisive point, decisive game at 4/4; 3ᵉ set = super decisive game at 10 points.
- D1 format: 1 set at 9 games, decisive game at 7 points at 8/8.
- D2 format: 1 set at 9 games, decisive point, decisive game at 7 points at 8/8.
- E-format: 1 set to 10 points (format reserved for P 25 – See CDC Tournaments).
All matches, regardless of the format, will be counted at the same coefficient when calculating the ranking: coefficient 1.
Youth competitions , in addition to the E format, will only use breakpoint formats.
Minimum rest periods between two matches:
- 1h30 after a match in A1 or A2 format
- 1 hour after a match in B1 or B2 format
- 30 min after a match in C1, C2, D1 or D2 format
- 15 min after three consecutive games in format E
If the referee agrees, the regular rest time may not be taken. In this case, the written agreement of the 4 players will be required, each having to sign the disclaimer with the same referee. The disclaimer form can be downloaded from the website fft.fr.
