It was already the eighth confrontation this season between the number 1 pair Josemaria/Sanchez and the number 4 pair Brea/Gonzalez. In this first semi-final of the day, which lasted 1h30, it was ultimately Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez who won.

Before the start of this semi-final, the confrontations were balanced between the two teams. Slight advantage for the world number ones who had won four of the seven confrontations against the “superpibas”.

Solid number ones

From the first games of the match, the exchanges were intense between the two pairs but many mistakes ended the exchanges. In the second game, Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea had to save a break point, before getting three in the next game. Failed, the world number ones fail to convert these opportunities.

The first break of the game will ultimately be for the pair Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, well helped by a Bea Gonzalez lacking success. The score quickly turns to 4-1 with an incredible stat: Paula and Ari have won 12 of the last 15 points.

Things are not getting better for Bea Gonzalez and her teammate, broken a second time in this first set. Incisive and more aggressive, the world number ones play fair and drive the point home.

The “superbibas” however benefit from a little respite, converting their first break point out of the six they had obtained and returning to 5-3, erasing a set point in the process in the eighth game. This will not be not enough and on yet another mistake from Gonzalez, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez won the first round: 6-3.

One-sided second set

The second set continues along the lines of the first. The world number ones already have four break points. The third attempt is the right one, and Paula and Ari already take the lead: 1-0.

The games follow one another and are similar for both pairs. If there is very little waste on the side of the first world team, the “superpibas” commit many more mistakes, under the incessant assaults of Paula Josemaria.

The score flies up on the scoreboard. Already 4-0 after twenty minutes in the second round, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez unfolded and left very little room for Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez.

Totally confident in this meeting, Ariana Sanchez benefits several times from the help of the net. This will even have brought a smile to Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez who, however, nothing smiles in this part.

Trailing 0-30 on their serve, the world number ones had to tighten things up at the end of this game. And with a new mistake from Bea Gonzalez, the queens of the circuit won without difficulty. Final score: 6 / 3-6 / 2.

An unbalanced meeting

If on paper, this match promised great things, it did not go as planned for the Brea/Gonzalez pair. Largely dominated in the exchanges, the “superpibas” only won 37% of the points.

On a bad day, Bea Gonzalez couldn't help her partner. As success did not come, Bea made a series of unforced errors. And despite Delfi's good defense on the right, the aggressiveness of the world number ones got the better of one of the best female pairs of the season.

The number ones were able, for their part, to play their game without great difficulty. Ariana Sanchez nevertheless made a few mistakes in the aerial game, but seems to have recovered from her injury which forced her to withdraw from Finland Open, end of August.

With this fifth victory against the world number four, the queens of the circuit are heading towards their fifteenth final of the season, on the World Padel Tour and Premier Padel. In their sights: a twelfth victory on both circuits combined, to further establish their superiority in the padel female.

We will know their opponents at the end of the second semi-final, between Triay/Ortega and the little Riera/Icardo surprise, scheduled for 16 p.m.

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
