Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello left no room for doubt this Sunday in the final of the World Padel Tour Mexico Open.
Freshly crowned number 1 of the season, Coello and Tapia ended the week in apotheosis in Mexico, with a victory in two sets (6/4 6/2) and a new level of play.
The players of the Pratto / Martin / Crosetti trio did not lose a set all week in Mexico, never leaving more than 4 games in a round to their opponents! After having experienced a somewhat complicated period, they seem to be back at their best level, the one which allowed them to completely dominate the start of the season.
During the final, the young Libaak and Augsburger, who impressed all week, lacked the juice to worry Arturo and Agus'. The Argentinians did what they could but it was not enough in the face of the “two-headed monster” they found. It's a small blow for Leo Augsburger who needed a victory to qualify for the Master Final... The young phenomenon couldn't hide his tears at the end of the match.
Leo, it's a spectacular week, you have asked for a party of MF with a year's notice. Hecho more finals that many of the judges of the top-8, have matured. You have a spectacular future and it will happen sooner rather than later. Cuestión de tiempo tienes que estar muy orgulloso pic.twitter.com/mmarj0EKjQ

The Argentinian can always console himself with a point from elsewhere (see below) and say to himself that with a little more regularity, he would certainly have been part of the Top 16 this year. Given what they have been able to show intermittently, Libaak and Augsburger have all the weapons to establish themselves in the Top 8 of the best pairs from next season if they manage to be a little more mentally solid,
The recovery of Leo Augsburger from his house is able to measure the ball with a small space of door to door is to be a superdotado. El remate de Tapia y el willy de Coello son sencillamente sensacionales, pero Leo, de dónde vinistes. https://t.co/34Uf8FODP7 pic.twitter.com/IGDzJ9jYQU

For their part, Tapia and Coello won their 11th title of the season on the WPT, the last of the regular season, and the penultimate in the history of the circuit financed by Estralla Damm! Now, they hope to add the icing on the cake: a victory at the Master Final. Can they achieve it? Response from December 14!
