Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello fought a very big battle today in Stockholm, but it wasn't enough to dismiss Patty Llaguno and Virginia Riera.

We weren't far from a new surprise in this WPT Swedish Padel Open. Indeed, against Llaguno / Riera, the Franco-Spanish pair, not favorite, had a very big game.

After taking the first set in the tie-break, the Lyonnaise and her partner continued to attack their opponents. If they were able to give themselves some air by equalizing with one set everywhere, they were again put under pressure at the start of the third set, with a quick break for Castello / Collombon.

But once again, Llaguno and Riera were able to get out of a bad start. In the end, in this shock that lasted more than three hours, it was the details that made the difference, and it was the experience of the seeded 5 that won out. Indeed, as you can see in the stats, the Franco-Spanish pair won more points than its counterpart!

Alix and Jessica will inevitably have regrets losing by having done more than even play with a pair of this caliber, but the Lyonnaise and her "compi" will be able to console themselves by saying that they may have a chance for revenge in a week in Madrid !
