WPT organizers must juggle government decisions related to Covid-19. Like Roland-Garros, the WPT stage which was to take place in Vigo has been delayed by a week.

The 3rd stage of the calendar will therefore take place from May 9 for the Preprevias. This tournament will take place in the sports complex of As Travesas.

Despite a one week delay, it will not affect the other stages.

Indeed, there was no tournament planned that week. The tournaments are linked on WPT, but the organizers have left gaps between some tournaments to allow players to recover and to have leeway in case of unforeseen circumstances.

For example, following the Vigo Open, the best players in the world of padel will go to Santander for an Open from May 24 to 30 for the final draw.

This makes it possible to respond to the challenge of sanitary conditions, and to offer a tournament in accordance with the rules given by the authorities. We must praise the adaptation that the organizers have shown to keep a homogeneous schedule.

Remember that the next stop for the WPT is the Estrella Damm Alicante Open, which starts this Sunday, April 18 for the preprevias and from April 21 for the main draw.
