Yann Auradou is currently the 12th French player and could make his entry into the top 10 from January 2019. Author of the most beautiful French progression in 2018 (55th in December 2017), his ambitions are logically evolving. With a coach and a physical trainer for 2019, the goal is simple: Integrate the France Team of padel for the European Championships Padel 2019.

A big year of padel for you. Can we say that this is the most accomplished?

Absolutely. I have been very serious all year round and above all very regular by participating in many tournaments.

It's been a very positive year with among other things my first victory in p1000. Add to that 3 times finalist with 3 different partners. I think it's starting to matter.

And let's not forget this great qualification for the French championships which was difficult to find in an Ile de France League, certainly the most elevated in France.

But it was obviously the objective of the season with my partner Julien Maigret.

A superb 5eme place in the Championship of France, where clearly, by starting 8, we could not do better.

A WC at the WPT from PARIS to Casa Padel which allowed us to meet a high-level international team!

And to finish, we finish 3rd in EUROPEAN PADEL CUP with Toulouse Padel Club.

It was my 2nd year of Padel and I feel that I have improved a lot. It is this progression that makes me say that I am not very far from the best French in just 2 years of Padel.

In December 2017 I was 55th, and a year later I am 12th.

A beautiful year 2018 Padelistic which promises very beautiful things for 2019.

Do you think you can be part of the conscripts for international deadlines next year?

First, concerning the internship of potential players in the French team last May, it's a shame, but there is no regrets because I had not done better than 3rd of a p1000, this which is already a good performance.

There were a lot of players in front of me who deserved more than me.

On the other hand, I should move into the French top 10 in January 2019, add to my 5th place in the French championship and to my progress in just 2 years of Padel, yes I hope people will think of me in the future.

I do not know if the coach knows me, but in any case I intend to prove to him that I exist by continuing to invest myself thoroughly and to continue to progress.

The players in my post (left-hand player) who are in the France team (apart from Adrien Maigret and Benjamin Tison for the moment) all have professional projects in SPAIN. In addition, they have a few years of PADEL more than me.

To get a place in this team there, I will have to redouble my efforts. But I like challenges!

Clear goals for 2019?

I am a competitor and I am not far behind. We will therefore have to confirm at least in 2019. Next year, we will certainly have P1500 and P2000. It is these competitions that will have to be sought from now on. It is true that today the P1000 have become very / too classic. We will therefore position ourselves on these new categories.

Then, for the 2019 French championships, it would be nice to be able to make a podium. We are clearly one of the pairs with my partner Julien Maigret who can apply for this top 3. After that, you also need a little luck in the draw, that's obvious.

In terms of ranking, I am going to enter the French top 10 at the start of 2019. As a result, it would be at least staying in this top 10 and then you never know… grab a few places…

Again, the French team, I think about it… 8 players are selected. 14 during the annual internship between the potentials selected. So everything is open when you are part of the French top 10.

Internationally, I would like to do some tournaments World Padel Tour this summer. Do at least 1 or 2 pre-qualifying stages ...

At partner level we do not change a winning team?

That's it ! Well, I rather hope so. My partner for 2019 remains unknown for now. I would like to continue with Julien Maigret because we get along very well and we are starting to be very competitive together. Otherwise there are plenty of other very good players on the right! But I would like to play with a partner with whom I can train, who has the same goals and ambitions as me and above all with whom I get along well. With Julien, I think we did some great things together. Why stop now while everything is going so well ?

Where did you go? What is missing from your game according to you?

In Île de France, we are very lucky: There is a pool of very good important players if we compare with the other French regions. Suddenly, it allows progress without necessarily having to move. I remind you that we had the pair 2, 3 and 5 at the French championships ... And still, some pairs did not pass during the regional phases of IDF when they had largely the capacities. That is to say the level.

The other chance is the infrastructure we have here. I am lucky to have Le Padel Club in Bois d'Arcy 10 minutes from my home.

The other chance is to have been negative in tennis. We still arrive with a good technical and physical background. it allows you to pass caps more quickly than others.

The analyzes of the matches made (thanks to Padel Magazine besides), the matches of World Padel Tour, my sessions of 4 hours in a row to analyze professional players, it really helps to cross the threshold. You learn the right technique and tactics.

For 2019, I am still taking a step forward with training padel with Fabrice Ortiz and muscle building with Hiram Azilinon at Le Padel Club.

There is a lot of emphasis on my viboras and my banderas, because when it's cold and the par 3 doesn't come out, you have to adapt well!

Then I will have to work on my defense which is still to perfect, and my tactics.

I decided this year to invest my best to integrate Team France, I hope. We'll see if it pays off.

Do you have as a project, in the medium or long term, to go to Spain to play the WPT?

It is not topical because I think I do not yet have the minimum level to get started in a year like that.

In addition, I would financially find a sponsor that allows me to leave! And that my tennis club agrees to let me go.

But I would be lying if I told you it's not in the back of my mind.
