In the annual report of the firm Monitor Deloitte, produced in collaboration with Playtomic, we learn that nearly 6 tracks of padel were built in 2022 in Europe. We can even observe the distribution of these new lands according to the country.

Italy on the rise 

Through the famous report, we note that Italy has created 1 800 land in 2022, an increase of 39%, the largest in Europe over the period. On January 2023, XNUMX, our transalpine neighbors had 6 lots on their territory. Italy, which invests heavily in the padel, has the results of his ambition. Today, it is just behind Spain in terms of the number of tracks. The “country of padel” prances in first place with 15 lots, of which 300 were created in 1, an increase of 300%. In third position is Sweden with a total of 2022 tracks, including 10 created in 4 (flat: 600 of these new lands have since been dismantled…).

France progresses more slowly

In the year 2022, 320 tracks de padel were created in France, marking a 27% increase, bringing the total number to 1 lots in January 2023 according to figures provided by Monitor Deloitte. But between the "5 sports fields" plan for the 000 Paris Games and the ANS plan - making it possible to help finance sports fields padel – 500 pistes should soon see the light of day in France.

Despite this, the boom in padel is still not the one expected: by way of comparison, Italy has created more land in 2022 than France has! Just behind France, the Netherlands, despite their reduced territory, created 477 tracks last year, for a total of 1. Both Belgium and Portugal respectively saw their number of slopes climb to reach a total of 445 for our Belgian neighbors and 1 for the Lusitanians.

Emergence of new countries 

This report shows us that other countries in Europe are beginning to be contaminated by the fever of padel such as Denmark and Finland, which now have more than 750 tracks each. Norway, for its part, released 220 tracks last year, bringing its total to 350. Germany and the United Kingdom, although very late, are also entering the dance, having doubled their number of tracks on the year 2022 with a total of 250 plots of padel. 

When we know that in the world, 8 pitches have been built in 2022, we say that the Old Continent, with 6 new creations, is clearly asserting itself as the stronghold of padel.
