Le padel grows, we know. Still ubiquitous in Spain and Latin America, it is beginning to make a name for itself in other regions of the world, suggesting a sport that is going global. The firm Monitor Deloitte in collaboration with Playtomic looked into the question in its annual report on the evolution of the padel.

In particular, it is expected that over the next few years, the growth of the padel be marked by significant momentum in regions where the sport is still nascent, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the United States, the Middle East and Asia. These new regions should allow the padel to assert its full potential. With this expansion, it is expected that by 2026 there will be approximately 85 padel in the world against only 40 today. A figure constantly revised upwards since the latest version of the report predicted 67 lots by 000!

The firm specifies that over the year 2022, the evolution of the number of plots was 28% with 8200 plots created in these regions. The same is true for clubs with 1914 new creations, an increase of 24% over the same period. In addition to the increase in the number of courts, the report highlights the growth of the padel, valued at around 2 billion euros.

After being rocked by tennis for nearly 15 years, I became an absolute fan of its cousin, the padel. For nearly a year now, I've been chasing the little yellow ball with another racquet, but with just as much passion! Based in Lyon, I intend to make you better acquainted with the padel in the region and at the national level.
