France will be strongly represented in the Junior Masters, which starts today in Chengdu, China. Four players and tricolor players have indeed earned their qualification for this prestigious event: Diane Parry, Elsa Jacquemot, Harold Mayot and Valentin Royer.

This competition, which takes place from 23 to October 27, brings together the eight best players and players, who are divided, in the group stage, into two groups of four. The top two in each group will then qualify for the semi-finals.

Since 2015 and the first edition of the Junior Masters, this is the first time that France has four representatives. Last year, Clara Burel had distinguished herself by winning the title and Hugo Gaston reaching the semi-finals.

Diane Parry, who has just reached the first place in the world junior rankings thanks to her victory last week at the Osaka tournament (Grade A), will be keen to sign a good performance in order to keep this place. For her part, Elsa Jacquemot, who is the youngest player to participate in this competition (16 years old), will also have a great card to play. Harold Mayot, winner of the Osaka tournament a few days ago (Grade A), and Valentin Royer will also try to end their season in style.

« I am very happy that four French players have managed to qualify for the Junior Masters. This is a great reward for these young French tennis hopefuls, who have been consistent throughout the season. Their excellent results are also the fruits of the ambitious Junior plan of the "Act and Win" program. I am convinced that they have the weapons to achieve great things in China and I hope they will follow the path shown by Clara Burel last year. I wish them much success and success in this event "Explains Pierre Cherret, National Technical Director of the FFT.
