Absent during the closing ceremony of the Qatari World Cup, Fernando Belasteguin was quite criticized on social networks. He explains himself in an interview for Argentinian newspaper Olé.
Let's take the context: Fernando Belasteguin and Martin Di Nenno bow in three sets in an unbreathable end of the match against Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebron. Spain wins the title and Bela, far from his best in the decisive moments, seems bruised.

Absent when it came time to collect the silver medal (just like Maxi Sanchez if the photo is to be believed), the Argentinean has suffered a lot of criticism. It is explained:
“It’s a subject that’s pretty good to me. I left so as not to miss my plane and I’m the only one to have been criticized for it. When the match ended, I was sad and started to cry. Then we left at full speed because we had all our things at the hotel, we showered and hurried to the airport. And I was also criticized for that. I usually take a lot of perspective when it comes to what people can say on social networks, but that hurt me because it affected my family, my parents. We are all human beings. ”
Not at his best in the final

The Argentine also blamed himself for not having been able to play his best padel in the crucial moments of this final:
“If I had arrived in a different dynamic in the last two or three tournaments (of the WPT), we would not have lost this decisive game against Paquito and Lebron. You can't say I had a bad season since I won three titles, but in this third set, leading 5/2, I made a lot of mistakes in rushing. I think it is due to a lack of confidence in not having had a good result in the previous weeks. We were in control and when we had to finish the job, when we have to play really well, I made mistakes and they were able to turn the situation around. ”
