But how far will Benjamin Tison go? This is the question we can ask ourselves today.

Indeed the Frenchman continues his ascent within the padel worldwide by reaching 62nd place in the world ranking World Padel Tour. For this occasion we were able to talk to him and hear his feelings about this new leap forward.

“A great pride”

“You could say it's a rapid evolution but it's mainly due to the fact that I made six final tables. We had a very good start to the season with Teo until we broke up. It's quite exceptional. What is hard is to maintain this rhythm there because the previas are complicated. Currently there are three previa players who have gone to 1/8th so I will go down but we can still say that I would have been 62nd (laughs)."

"Joking aside yes it is a great pride.

“Goal Top 50?”

“The Top 50, yes I am ambitious I want to tell myself. It seems hard to reach it but I will do everything for it. We are talking about players who have a great level, who are young and train every day but I will do the best I can even if I know it will be complicated.

“Incredible that 5/6 French people are getting closer to the Top 100”

"It's true that I've only been playing for seven years padel including four without having taken any lessons, so it's sure that if we compare to the Spaniards, that's not a lot. What makes me happy is that a few years ago I saw very young players, 18 years old, who have been playing since childhood and who are now in previa. I feel like I've managed to follow the evolution and progress of these players.

That's why it makes me smile when I see on social networks that people say that the Argentineans and the Spaniards are light years away from the French. I see it the other way around. In seven or eight years we have managed to have only 5 or 6 French people who are close to the 100th place in the world. I find that incredible. I know that the tricolor public is demanding but it is a feat that we can exist. I find it incredible that we are so close to them."

“Of course there are two or three generations behind and don't believe that in the years to come there will be French people in the Top 30. There is a big gap and the level is only increasing and in the next ten years this will continue, it will be much harder to enter the Top 50. Today young people always start very early in the lessons of padel and train more and more physically. It's like tennis twenty years ago.

“I have not denied my values”

“I don't know everyone's story but I must be the only one who, in such a short time, managed to enter the Top 70. Afterwards, I must admit that I was successful because when I arrived in Spain everything was well organized thanks to Jérémy Scatena, I had a great direct coach, no problems. In addition, I very quickly had a Spanish partner who wanted to play with me. Few people know it but some players are forced to pay stronger players to play with them. This was not the case for me and it is one of my values, that is why I am proud of myself and why I deserve this place. I did not deny my values.”

“With Martin we have a great project and I will not give up”

“The debut with Martin is even better than I thought in terms of the level of play in training. We beat all the pairs we play against. Again yesterday we played against players ranked 50 we managed to defeat them 6/3 – 6/3. However on our first game in Portugal we made a false start. I hope it was the excitement of playing together that made us miss the game, in difficult playing conditions."

Martin Pineiro and Benjamin Tison

"Nevertheless, I am quite confident for the future. We have a great project and I won't give up. Martin has a lot of experience and he teaches me a lot of things. I think it will make me progress.
Plus he's a great person off the pitch. I'm very lucky every time, whether it's with Teo before or now with Martin, I always have partners who are great, with whom I get on well. Besides the sporting adventure when I left for Spain I was also looking to experience a human adventure. I do not regret at all and every day I get closer to the best. I live very beautiful things in incredible places, I hope it will continue”.
