It's a little bomb in the world of padel. After footballers such as the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic or the world champion Zinédine Zidane, another great international star is launching into the football business. padel : the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the past, we had already observed its links with the padel, especially when from his recent travels in Asia. CR7 had offered an exceptional advertising campaign for the padel.

This new passion also hid a desire to become more involved in this field.

The Portuguese Federation of padel confirmed it in a press release:

Official press release – City of Padel (Cidade do Padel:

“The Portuguese Federation of padel is pleased to have concluded an agreement with the promoters of the project selected for the partnership aimed at building and developing the “City of Padel” (Cidade do Padel). This consortium is made up of Lusofinança Lda, whose main shareholder is Filipe de Botton, and CR7 SA, a company whose majority of capital is owned by Cristiano Ronaldo.

This project represents the largest infrastructure ever dedicated to padel in Portugal. The complex, requiring an investment exceeding five million euros, should see the light of day during the first half of 2025.

The Portuguese Federation of padel would like to salute the innovation and vision of the project selected by our jury. It is part of a resolutely modern approach, with a strong commitment to sustainability and a spirit of community in harmony with the values of the padel. In addition, the planned facilities integrate magnificently into the natural setting of the site.

We would like to express our gratitude for the determination, involvement and enthusiasm of the leaders of this project. It is with immense pride that we collaborate with one of Portugal's most renowned entrepreneurs, associated with a global sports icon. This marks a decisive step for the influence of padel, a growing sport in our country.

We are convinced that the “City of Padel”, thanks to the collaboration of renowned partners such as Lusofinança and CR7 SA, will open a brilliant new chapter for the padel Portuguese. We look forward to future phases of this ambitious initiative.”
