The Ciotat Tennis Club hosted its first P1000 ladies from August 27 to 29. Despite difficult weather conditions, the tournament kept all its promises.

Dardaine/Maligo played spoilsport

In La Ciotat, the seeded number 4, Marie Amélie Dardaine / Marie Maligo came to play spoilsport. Although Marie-Amélie is the highest ranked player in the tournament (9th), their weight as a team was lower than that of Vandaele/Carré (seeded 2) or Lambgrets/Sorel (seeded 3). After eliminating the Nadal/Garrigues pair (seed 8) in the semi-finals, Dardaine and Maligo found themselves facing the tournament's number 1 seed, Marie Lefevre and Déborah Alquier.

A new international association

With this new success at La Ciotat, Marie Amelie Dardaine wins his 6th P1000 this season. The one who wants to join the French team continues its rise and equals its usual partner, Tiffany Phaysouphanh, who also won his 6th P1000 title this weekend in Nîmes. A dream start to the season for Marie Amélie, who continues to perform well: “My objective at the start of the season was to enter the French top 10 and to progress technically. I will be present at the big French tournaments alongside Tiffany and the FIPs with foreign partners. Spanish players have given me their agreement”.

As mentioned in a previous article, the Dardaine/Phaysouphanh pair is to be followed very closely for the next French championship.

The Franco-Belgian duo, Dardaine/Maligo, distinguished itself successfully in La Ciotat. The two players are also renewing their association for the FIP Rise in Houten, the Netherlands. In the round of XNUMX, they will be opposed to the Belgian pair Dierckx/Vierendeels. "We got on well and our games are quite complementary. We are happy with the level we showed during this tournament“, rejoices the French number 9.
