The President of Monte-Carlo International Sports, Fabrice Pastor, lets us know more about his news padel, the Fabrice Pastor Cup, its relations with the World Padel Tour but also and above all the future with in particular the purchase of Tennis Padel Soleil and its collaboration with the My Padel FFT tower by Babolat.

When is the next edition of Monte Carlo? Padel Master? 

Fabrice Pastor - This is not planned. But you never know in life. Never say never…

Are there still relations with the World Padel Tour ? 

There is no relationship with WPT. They have decided as you well know, to break all collaboration and I am curious to see in the future if the players who will win the Fabrice Pastor Cup this year will be accepted by the WPT.

Can this have consequences with WPT players?

I totally ignored the consequences that could be with the players of the team MCIS, knowing the pressure that was exerted for the renewal of players with the circuit that I think was unhealthy. You can not make a pro player of any sport decide the next ten years of his life in a week.

The establishment of a competition competing with the WPT. Possible?

As the World Padel Tour was at the time with the Padel Pro Tour… But after signing the players with the World Padel Tour, this is not obvious. But it is never impossible to create a future circuit. 

How will happen next? 

Rendez-vous the 9 February 2018 in Paraguay for the Fabrice Pastor Cup, followed by Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil to discover the two best players from each country, who will arrive in March to play in the WPT.

In addition, we think about extending the Fabrice Pastor Cup to other countries. This competition takes more and more importance.

It is sought by China, Thailand, Japan and Sweden.

What are the projects?

After the total purchase of Tennis Padel Beausoleil and the construction of two tennis courts certified ATP, the central Padel will become a very nice mini stadium.

Urban artist following the end of the Fabrice Pastor Cup tournaments, Juan Tello and Federico Chingotto will be residents at Tennis Padel Beausoleil for the whole of 2018, and we will add a visit of one week per month to Gaby Reca.

Finally, to complete, 3 or 4 days per month, WPT players will come to play with our members or regular customers. 

The French Championships are in the corner of the head?

I think we have to give way to the new generation, ours is way too old [laughs]

Federations and WPT can get closer?

The federations of padel should work with the WPT. But with the players signing with the WPT, that feels compromised to me now.

You also invest in France with the My Padel Tower…

Indeed, Monte-Carlo International Sports and Tennis Padel Soleil will jointly sponsor and host a stage and especially the Final Master of the My circuit Padel All this is approved by the French Tennis Federation.
