As seeded 4 of the FIP Platinum Sardegna, Léa Godallier and Alix Collombon could cross paths with the big favorites of the competition, Virginia Riera and Tamara Icardo in the semi-final.

But the 100% French pair, who won this morning against Carnicero / Merino, benefits from a little helping hand from destiny since the 1st seed has withdrawn, Tamara Icardo having obviously not recovered from the injury which forced her to abandon in Germany.

The two players are therefore replaced by the Dutch lucky-losers Hemmes and Segou Jonker, which clears the path for Alix and Léa, who now form the highest ranked pair at the top of the table. Change also in the lower part with the withdrawal of the 3rd seed Goenaga / Martinez, replaced by another Dutchwoman, Van Der Hoek and her Spanish partner Alegre.

You have understood, the French Champions can clearly hope for a final in Cagliari (or even better). But for that they will first have to dismiss Marina Lobo and Nuria Rodriguez in the quarterfinals (the latter having beaten Polo/Ribeiro 6/1 6/2 this morning), before perhaps an explosive semi-final against their respective former teammates : Orsi and Mesa.

We're obviously not there yet, so in the meantime, let's move on to the rest of the eighth in Sardinia, to see just below:
