It is a new committee of the International Federation of Padel. Members of theAsia Pacific met for the first time to set up future actions.

It was therefore at the end of September that this very first meeting of the Asia-Pacific committee of the FIP took place by videoconference. A meeting led by its president koji nakatsuka, and accompanied by the presence of the President of the FIP, Luigi Carraro.

The purpose of this meeting was to exchange ideas and understand the situation. padel in the many countries of Asia and Oceania.

Today, the Asia-Pacific committee brings together 160 tracks and more than 25 regular players of which more than 000 have a license. These figures are positive and encouraging because the federations of padel in this area are young, most of them less than 5 years old.

Despite the passage of Covid-19, the figures are good with an ever increasing number of players, tracks and licensees; a figure which should be much higher within 5 years.

A secret project?

Koji Nakatsuka tells us about a “secret” project that this brand new committee would have, a project that should allow an increase in the number of players. Because the logic is simple; if the number of players increases, the construction of tracks and the arrival of more material will follow.

The idea is really to create a pattern in which the players of padel can easily evolve by playing and promoting the padel, where clubs would be more visited, where track builders would have full order books, and where brands would find more interest in promoting their novelties.

“The idea will be to motivate this economic circle so that it is a give and take for everyone.”

Asia is a huge continent, containing half of the world's population. This brand new committee promises us to work for the development of sport, the sport we love so much.
