If the news may seem quite anecdotal to you, it is nevertheless a real step forward for the padel Mexican. A land of padel public was officially inaugurated in the Benito Juarez district of Mexico City, to the delight of aficionados of padel local.

Diego de la Torre (organizer of the World Padel Tour international level), accompanied by Ignacio Soto Borja y Anda, representative of the WPT in Mexico and the mayor of Benito Juarez, Santiago Taboada, inaugurated with great fanfare the first public field of padel of Mexico City.

For Diego de la Torre, this track “represents a very important step for the padel in Mexico", after several years of promoting this sport of which he was one of the main ambassadors.

Le World Padel Tour underlined the importance of being able to make this sport more accessible and more visible at the national level in the country where the activity was invented. Soto Borja y Anda recalled that ” one of the main objectives at the international level is to ensure that in the short term this discipline is integrated into the Olympic calendar “. He also said that this sport has a very specific interest for Mexican women.

For the mayor of Benito Juárez, Santiago Taboada, this public track only reinforces the policy that he himself has promoted in favor of all sports, with a view to making them accessible to all Mexicans.

The event also took place in the presence of Natalia Blanco, one of the best local players, and who invited more people to try this sport, which has been growing in Mexico in recent years.

Passionate about football, I discovered the padel in 2019. Since then, it's been crazy love with this sport to the point of abandoning my favorite sport.
