We told you about it a little earlier today, if there was a match to watch today it was the one between Belgium to Italy.

Both mistreated by Argentina, our two neighbors were able to raise the bar against the Netherlands. A victory, a defeat, the two nations had no choice this afternoon in Dubai. And after more than 2h40 of play it was Belgium who came out on top in this duel.

A complicated start

The first meeting opposed Cattaneo / Sinicropi (ITA) to Deloyer / Montoisy (BEL). The latter had a complicated start to the match because the well-legged Transalpins were able to impose their rhythm during the first set. However, it was without counting on the unfailing motivation of the Belgians who, after a break, completely returned to their match and turned the tide, resetting the counters to zero. The third round was tighter but they still managed to come away with the victory, thus offering a very valuable first point to their team.

Final score: 4/6 – 6/1 – 6/4.

Geens and Peeters offer qualification to Belgium!

For the second battle, it was the turn of the pairs Capitani / Perino (ITA) and Geens / Peeters (BEL) to enter the 20×10. To everyone's surprise, Clément and Jérôme completely suffocated their opponents, dominating the debates against a pair that never seemed to fit in their match! They thus offer the second point of victory to their nation by winning the game in straight sets: 6/1 – 6/2.

Thanks to this success, Belgium qualified for the quarter-finals and created the first real surprise of the competition. The Belgians will find the winner of the confrontation between France and Paraguay on the next round.

The third game (without stake) is currently being played and you can follow it live just below:
