For many months, Nicolas Rouanet is making headlines with his very good results in various tournaments in France. 17e French player, he amazes with his level. Last notable result : his victory in the P1500 at Padel Campus Arena, with Norman Sanchez. This week, the 27-year-old young player introduced himself at the FIP Rise qualifications in Bourg-en-Bresse, still with Norman. The opportunity for him to look back on his career which began… just a year and a half ago !

A very recent start

I started the padel in March 2022 in my tennis club. I was returning from the United States where I stayed for seven years for my university tennis career. I then coached for two and a half years.

I started tournaments straight away, starting with a P100 and a few P250s with friends from my tennis club. I quickly realized that I had a basic level that allowed me to see a little higher. It was a little later in 2022 that I had a little breakthrough in P500.

The start of results

I believe that within four months I had won 13 P500. I therefore got closer to the top 100 French people at the end of 2022.

It was in January 2023 that I started the P1000 and the categories above. Everything went rather quickly because I was out of the top 100 in January and I am now in the top 20. The season has been more than positive with three victories in P1000, one victory in P1500 and two semi-finals in P2000.

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
