We didn't necessarily expect it and yet... Alix Collombon et Jessica Ginier-Barber are registered together to play the Premier Padel Qatar Major from March 1 to 8.
Jessica Ginier had announced the color at the start of the season and had declared that he wanted to “focus on international tournaments“. What she's doing this season since she teamed up with Carla Toully. An association which is off to a good start between Carla and Jessica, who have already lifted a trophy together, during the FIP Rise Betsson I.
The Lyonnaise, who wanted focus on international tournaments, therefore continues its momentum since it is now tackling the Premier Padel. To play in Qatar, she will be associated with a player she knows very well, having already played with her for years, with the success we know in France: Alix Collombon.
Alix teamed up with Julieta Bidahorria this season, but the latter, still not completely recovered from her anterior cruciate knee ligament operation, is not yet ready to return to the field. Therefore, Alix must find other partners for the next upcoming tournaments. In Riyadh, the French number 1 will share the track with the Swede amanda girdo 103e world.
In Qatar, we will therefore find the two French women together. For the moment, they form the 23rd pair of the tournament. As registrations are not yet closed, it is possible that other better ranked teams will pass them by.
Carla Toully, Jessica Ginier's current partner, will also be present at the P1 Qatar Major. The latter is registered alongside the Portuguese Margarida Fernandes (117e).
Two other French women should be present: Elodie Invernon, who is associated with Catarina Santos (123rd), and Wendy Barsotti, who teams up with Catarina Castro Vilela (139th).
It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
