The previas of the P2 of Puerto Cabello in Venezuela ended last night and the Tricolores now know what awaits them in the final table.

Collombon in search of results

The start of the 2024 season is probably not what Alix Collombon hoped for. The French number one has so far only signed one victory on the circuit Premier Padel, facing a pair benefiting from a wild-card which allowed her to go to the second round of the Qatar Major alongside her compatriot Jessica Ginier.

In Riyadh and Acapulco, the French Champion suffered two dry defeats against the big names on the circuit. In Puerto Cabello, Collombon and her partner Julieta Bidahorria will try to find confidence since they will face a pair from qualifying in the first round, the Mexicans Ana Maria Cabrejas and Camila Ramme, who easily came out of the previas.

Invernon varnished

Already qualified for the Qatar Major thanks to a retirement in the last round of previas, Élodie Invernon was once again able to count on her lucky star in Venezuela. The Frenchwoman and her partner Bruna Albuquerque, seeded number two in the previas, did not have to hit a single ball to reach the final table. Exempted from the first round, the Franco-Portuguese pair then took advantage of the withdrawal of Camille Sireix and Alba Carmona to exit the qualifiers.

The draw also benefited the Tricolores, since Élodie Invernon will face Carla Touly and Margarida Fernandes as soon as she enters the fray this night. There will therefore undoubtedly be a Frenchwoman in the second round in Puerto Cabello!

Among men, we recall that Thomas Leygue obtained his ticket for the final table, while Bastien Blanqué and Dylan Guichard fell in the second round of previas.
