The semi-finals of the Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel 2024 are now set and will be played this Thursday from 15:30 p.m. local time (13:30 p.m. in France) on the Center Court of the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha.
In the quarterfinals, pairs 2, 3 and 4 (Coello/Tapia, Stupaczuk/Di Nenno and Navarro/Gutierrez) all won their matches in straight sets. The Yanguas/Garrido pair also qualified for the semi-finals and are aiming for their first final of the Premier Padel against the reigning Qatar Major champions, Stupa/Di Nenno. The day ended with the match between the favorites, Coello and Tapia, facing Paquito and Sanyo.
On the women's side, Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo eliminated number 2 seeds Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea after more than two hours of play. Number 1 seeds Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría also qualified, just like the new pairs Gemma Triay/Claudia Ferenández and Marta Ortega/Verónica Virseda. The semi-finals promise to be exciting to see how far these duos can go in this first big event of the season.
