Returned / Derrough and Tison / Pommier win the regional phases of the Yvelines league counting for the French championships of padel 2017 to Padel Bois d'Arcy Club.

Returned / Derrough: Beautiful champions

This is a half-surprise since the Somarriba / Tonda pair lost their crown this year when it was definitely the best Yvelines last year.

Once again, the Somarriba / Tonda pair was seeded number 1 in the tournament and positioned themselves as contenders for the 2017 vintage.

But the Derrough / Renvois pair decided otherwise.

An atypical pair: Julie Derrough is a powerful and unpredictable player who can hurt a lot on a field. She is currently playing in Madrid. His game has evolved a lot. His partner, Pauline Renvoisé is one of the best lefties in France. She had a very complete match. The No. 2 seed in the table made a near-perfect copy to get through the TS1.

In the first set, however, favorites lead 3 / 1. The ball went much faster than in previous games and it took Renvoisé / Derrough to find the right benchmarks.

In the end, the pair Referred / Derrough wins this final on the score of 6 / 4 6 / 3.

Somarriba / Tonda and Referred / Derrough will be the representatives of the league of Yvelines during the inter-regions of next September.

Tison / Pommier and the Maigret brothers will be at the rendezvous

Very logically, the pairs Tison / Pommier and Maigret / Maigret will be the two pairs representing the Yvelines next September. During these inter-regions, they will be the big favorites of the competition to reach the final stages of the French championships of padel September 24th and 25th.

The final was not completed because Adrien Maigret was injured early in the game.

Players to watch ...

Note, the very good performance of the Taupin / Gest pair who succeeded in the quarterfinals to achieve a good match against the favorites of the competition, the Maigret brothers. They lose this match 6/3 6/4. Remember that Romain Taupin lives in Barcelona where he teaches padel to the Spaniards (for once it's in this direction!) and that Thomas Gest seems to have a bright future in the padel in view of its great performances in recent weeks.
