The first day of the final table of My Padel Tour of Monaco in the magnificent setting of Tennis Padel Sun is coming to an end. This day dedicated to the round of XNUMX and quarter-finals will have kept all its promises with spectacular suspense matches.

Exceptional 8e

Barely enough time to get out of bed we had a pretty round of 16, including the match between Robin Haziza and Jérémy Scatena against Juan Tello (16ème mondial) and Laurent Bensadoun.

After a first set win 6 / 1 by the pair Tello / Bensadoun, the two French friends quickly recovered by winning the second set 6 / 3. After saving a match point, it was finally the pair Tello / Bensadoun who won 11 / 9 in the super tie-break.

In the quarter-finals, Tello / Bensadoun also had a very close match as she pushed Ritz / Ferrandez aside for 3 / 6 6 / 2 6 / 4.

For its part, the current pair Adrien Maigret / Benjamin Tison held his rank despite some difficulties in getting rid of Sébastien Preauchat and Cyril Boronad in eighth. They also needed three sets to qualify for the semi-finals against Moreau / Fouquet.

In the semifinal tomorrow morning, we will certainly be entitled to an epic shock between Maigret / Tison against Tello / Bensadoun.

In the other part of the table, Bastien Blanqué and Johan Bergeron, French 1 number held their rank by initially beating the Kuzaj / Monville pair (6-0 6-1) and the Corbelli / Leygue pair in quarter-turn. -final (6-3 6-2).

A perfect start to the tournament for them, even if we know that the French champions of padel in title also benefit from a more affordable table game!

However, they will have a lot to do in the semifinals since they will face the pair made up of Federico Chingotto (17th world) and Mati Ortiz (tennis coach Padel Soleil and the Argentine pair Tello / Chingotto).

The Argentineans also had a course without bumps to climb in the last square. They first defeated Laurent Boulade and Loïc Le Panse (seeded 4) on the 6-4 6-4 score, then chained in a quarter against the pair Pierre Gauthier and François Authier (6- 4 6-2).

Logic respected in the ladies

In women, the logic was respected during this first day.

Indeed, the first four seeds of the tournament will be in the semifinals.

Laura Clergue and Audrey Casanova made their quarter-final win (6-1 6-1) against Marion Safont and Emilie Guisier. They will face Océane Kik and Line Meites in the semi-finals who won their quarter-final on the 6-4 6-2 score against the pair Guez / De Kermadec.

Finally, the other semi-final will pit Géraldine Sorel and Mélissa Martin against Virginie Pironneau and Fiona Ligi. The Sorel / Martin pair wins its 6-1 6-1 quarter, while Pironneau / Ligi qualifies after a 7-5 6-2 victory in the quarter. Note the injury to the shoulder of Virginie Pironneau who could declare forfeit tomorrow morning.
