It's official, our French, Jérémy Scatena becomes the first French to enter the world top 100. He is officially the 99th player in the world. A performance that will remain engraved in the marble of padel French.

FINALLY ! Top 100 reached!

How hard it was! We can say that it will have taken time, involvement and energy to get there.

The top 100 is a goal that I set myself almost 2 years ago. It is therefore clearly an outcome and an important stage in my sports career.

I am proud to have arrived there and especially in the way. We had to win the last two FiP of the year, we did it with Johan Bergeron with in particular 3 matches in 3 sets. I take this opportunity to thank him for having held the house when the pressure did not allow me to play my best padel.

I thank all my partners Mark Bernils, Nicolas Suescun and the legend Guillermo Lahoz for allowing me to get there.

We know you like to project yourself. Now, in the viewfinder the top 80?

Of course, after the top 100, the top 80 seems a consistent goal. But we will take the time to savor! Getting into the top 100, you don't realize how hard it is. Competition is terrible among the gentlemen. In recent years, the level of World Padel Tour exploded.

The top 100 was the “almost impossible” OBJECTIVE… It's done now.

The top 100 was an unattainable goal. And I did it! So we are now going to set new goals, because it's my adrenaline. The TOP 80 is yet another level that seems far away today. But I know I can do it.

Why unreachable?

I set myself this top 100 goal as a dream, and then we worked a lot with Jean-Michel Pequery my mental coach to stay in the present, believe in it and put all the essential ingredients for performance. I take this opportunity to warmly thank the person who has always believed in me my trainer Pablo Ayma.

And for 2020, we are going to renew this organization which worked so well in 2019.

2020, who will it be with? Willy Lahoz?

On the World Padel Tour, I will play a priori with David Garcia Campos, a 26-year-old 108th player in the world. I made this choice based on his style of play.

With Willy, I have a very very good relationship, he offered to do some FiP, I would be crazy to refuse, right? (To laugh)

Robin Haziza is your historical partner in France. will it continue?

Robin is the partner with whom I played a lot in France. In 2019, we won two major tournaments in France. We will certainly play again together in the French team of padel.

But in 2020, we will no longer play together. I'm looking for my future partner in France, I can play with a Spanish or a player from the French top 10. But nothing official yet. We'll see.

According to you what should you work to pass the next stage?

When I set myself the goal of the world top 100, I focused my preparation on the physical, in particular with Yann Lejeune. I have an atypical game which is very demanding, so for 2020 we will continue on this path.

At the level padel, I want to progress on the little game, and the reflexes on the fly. I want to become an even more aggressive player and be at the net as often as possible.

In 2020, will we see you a little more in France?

Yes, I will be seen more in France. For sure. My goal is to do the P2000 if obviously the FFT manages to avoid putting stages of its elite circuit at the same time as stages of the World Padel Tour.

One of my goals is also the French Championship of padel 2020. Clearly I will try to win the title next year.

Internationally, there is obviously the circuit of World Padel Tour. But I will also try to make stages of the International Federation of Padel. There are points to look for. And we can say that thanks to the last 2 victories in FIP, I was able to achieve my goals.

Finally, there are obviously the world championships of padel 2020. We will have to be ready, because France is now expected and will try to repeat the very good results it has obtained, as in Paraguay or Italy.

Scat at the WPT until very long?

At the moment I have a medium term project on the WPT so it will continue. I'm going to be 35 but paradoxically it's my first full year on the WPT so I'm not going to stop there!
