The Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (COIB) and Padel Belgium have revealed the names of the players who will defend the country's colours at the European Games. Padel is making its first appearance in this competition which will take place from 21 to 25 June in Krakow.

Here is the list of the selected by category:

  • Ladies: Helena Wyckaert, An-Sophie Mestach, Elyne Boeykens, Dorien Cuypers
  • Men: Clement Geens, Maxime Deloyer, Jerome Peeters, Francois Azzola
  • Mixed: Helena Wyckaert, Clement Geens, Dorien Cuypers, François Azzola

François Azzola (757th in the FIP ranking) is the nice surprise on this list, he who had not participated in the last World Championships in November 2022 in Dubai. Overall, these are names that we saw during the stage of World Padel Tour in Brussels.

If the local event was not a great success for Belgian players, the latter can reassure themselves by saying that only two Spanish pairs will be present at the European Games. They will therefore be among the favorite pairs for a medal!
