We had the chance to test the Cartri Thunder II, a pala handcrafted in Spain, and focused on power: a real tornado.

La Cartri Thunder II is a high-end racquet, in the shape of a diamond, but rather light (368 g for the model that we were able to test).

First impressions

No doubt, we are dealing with a racquet for players looking for power! The weight is distributed towards the head, and the aggressive design immediately announces the color. Rather funny, one side of the pala has the logo in red, and the other in green.

The finishes are neat, smooth and matte paint, fleece strap, materials at the top of innovation, we immediately have the feeling of having a high quality part in the hands. From the warm-up, the impressive noise clearly announces the intentions of this racket.

The high balls

It is obviously the chosen field of this Thunder II. With its weight in mind, the sweet-spot is located on the top of the pala. The bullet output is impressive and there is no need to overdo it to find length on high balls. It goes very well!

What is quite impressive is that the foam also reacts very well on power hits. Clearly this dual density Black EVA rubber allows you to both good ball exit and enough stiffness on hard hits. It must be said that the 6K Biaxial carbon, and the Hard resin, do their job well, it is compact at impact.

In defense

The distribution in the lead does not make life much easier on low balls. However, the racket has a good ball exit that makes it easy to find speed from the baseline, even when you are not very well placed.

The faces are stiff enough to find quality at the lob, and the comfortable touch makes you feel comfortable when defending. This is obviously not a racquet designed for defenders, but it does honorably in this area. And if you're lucky enough to have a bajada to play, it is immediately a delight!

Net

This is the other favorite area of this pala. Its large bale outlet allows play deep volleys easily. On attack balls, the matte, smooth paint gives great ball speed, while picking up spin well.

If you are a fan of blocking and lobing volleys, the excellent ball output of this racquet will allow you to never play balls that are too short. As on high balls, the stiffness of the faces and the Kevlar / carbon tubular, allows you to find a lot of power when it comes to finishing the point at the net.

In short

It's about a perfect racket for attacking players, who seek to maximize their qualities as finishers. It allows you to be comfortable on all high balls, and to do what you want on the fly.

Pure defense is not its strong point but its excellent good ball exit can get you out of the most complicated situations. It will be perfect for players who do not like to drag on the baseline and are looking to get back to the net as soon as possible. Very comfortable in the defense-attack transition, it will particularly appeal to fans of half-volleys and lobed volleys.

It's not for nothing that she was chosen by the youngster Diego Pascual Simon Tomas. An aggressive left-wing player who has recently played on the World Padel Tour.

Diego Pascual Cartri Thunder II

In the end it is a high level attack pala, with premium materials and innovative technologies. Finally, it is a racquet which, given its finishes, should hold up very well over time.
