Created in 1988, the USPG club (La Pointe des Galets Sports Union) has continued to develop and become more democratic. The Reunionese club now has three tracks of padel and gearing up for a big P1000 this weekend.

The history of the club

The club, which originally had a single tennis court, now has five and has 150 members. The management team, made up of members invested in the life of tennis in the city and qualified instructors, allow it to implement its primary missions:

▪ The quality of training at its youth and adult tennis school, with regular monitoring and an annual program for everyone.
▪ Representation of teams in youth and senior championships
▪ A sound internal organization, structured and open to exchanges with its members
▪ The search for conviviality around sporting and friendly events.

For the past few days, the club has been offering three tracks of padel for the pleasure of children and
big.

An ideal climate for playing

The club is located in the heart of the Parc Lambrakis sports complex, near the Littoral. The climate is ideal for outdoor sports. The club is affiliated with the Reunionese league and the French Tennis Federation.

The opening hours of the complex are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 21:45 pm and weekends from 8 am to 21 pm.

2023 targets

The objective in 2023 is to democratize the padel. The club is starting a collaboration with the educational city and the city of Le Port in order to bring the little Portois back to tennis and padel during school hours. The idea is to make both practices accessible: tennis and padel. Attractive formulas will be offered there.

Focus on the P1000

New tracks from padel will be inaugurated this Friday in the presence of officials, mayor, prefect, ANS... and for the occasion the club is organizing a P1000 men with the support of the Ligue Réunion Mayotte de tennis.

40 pairs will be at the start of the competition with seeded n°1 Manuel Vives and Dylan Guichard and seeded n°2 Matthieu Armagnac and Maxime Forcin.
