“It was a situation that we could expect since everyone defends their interests but I believe that it is specific to sports in development. THE World Padel Tour is in its right to organize as many tournaments this year so that Premier can do as little as possible. Anyway, the rules of the WPT have not yet been communicated to us. Until last year, all tournaments counted for the ranking, and if it's the same this year…if a player gets injured and can't participate in 3 or 4 tournaments, it will be a big problem.”

And his teammate Sanyo to go one better on this program which promises to be infernal: “If during the weeks of rest we have to go and play other tournaments… then I will have to leave a photo of myself at home.”

Whatever happens, the one who was for sixteen years at the head of the padel world wants to be present again at Roland-Garros, a tournament which, as he has already told us, is particularly close to his heart: “When the 2022 calendar of Premier Padel came out, given my injury history, I focused on being present at all costs in Paris. During previous tournaments I was afraid of hurting myself and missing Roland-Garros. And this year I want to play there with Sanyo.”
