After a day marked by a few surprises among the ladies, it's time for the quarter-finals of the 2022 French Championships which are being played in Toulouse Padel Club.

The big poster of the quarters: Invernon / Soubrie (TS2) vs Detriviere / Martin (TS5)

This is a match that could perfectly be a semi-final between four players who have been selected for represent the French team in Dubai !

If the dynamics of the last few weeks leaned more in favor of Detriviere and Martin, this Toulouse Saturday seems to have reset the counters. Indeed, when Amélie and Mélissa had to fight to get out of the Dechaume/Vandaele trap, Charlotte and Elodie only lost three games over the whole day! Enough to arrive fresher in the quarter-finals. With the addition of a public that will be won over to the cause of the local Soubrie, we can even say that the seeded 2 will be (slightly) favorite of this meeting between internationals!

A match that smells like powder: Ginier/Pothier (TS6) vs Phaysouphanh/Vo

This is another very balanced match on paper: the one between the seeded 6 Ginier / Pothier and the fallers of Lefevre / Ros, Tiffany Phaysouphanh and Mai Vo. On paper, Jessica, triple champion of France, and Lucile, member of the French team, will be the favorites. But beware, Tiffany has been improving steadily for almost two years, and Mai, although she hasn't played much this season, remains one of the best players in France. All the ingredients seem to come together for a big fight!

The poster between two pairs that qualified easily: Clergue / Ligi (TS3) vs Alquier / Kik (TS7)

Laura Clergue and Fiona Ligi were intractable today with just three games lost. Disappointed not to have been selected by Robin Haziza for the World Cup, Laura intends to show that she had the level to fly to the United Arab Emirates. She and Fiona, who will be fine with the French team in Dubai, have all the potential to make a podium in Toulouse. But before that, they will have to pass the Alquier/Kik obstacle.

Deborah and Océane, certainly less prominent this year, want to prove that they are capable of making a splash during these French Championships. These two experienced players, who have nothing to lose, could well cause some problems for the seeded 3!

The most unbalanced poster: Collombon / Godallier (TS1) vs Bahurel / Martinet

Léa Godallier and Alix Collombon, who started their competition this evening, did not really hang out on the Toulouse slopes Padel Club. The reigning French Champions have only left two games on the way and they will be arch-favorites against the surprising Bahurel and Martinet, who eliminated the seeded 8 Dardaine / Nadal.
