After a period of confinement that was probably a bit heavy in calories, you may now want to lose a few pounds. Here's how padel will help you.
As summer approaches, women's magazines are mostly focused on weight loss, trendy swimsuits, light and fresh recipes. We are not going to get into this subject, but rather give you some tips to help you lose those extra pounds gained during winter and confinement.
The basis for losing pounds is to burn more calories than you eat. It's simple. Have fun counting more or less the calories you eat during a meal, then go running or exercise on a bike to find out the calories lost. This allows you to reflect.
Then you have to think that during a day, you never remain inactive, at least we hope so. Carrying out daily activities allows you to always burn a little. But, in order to advance in weight loss, you will have to combine low-calorie diet and physical exercise. Padel is great for that.
Create a routine
Your smartphones all have a built-in calendar. You never use it, this is the opportunity to get started. Set yourself one or more padel appointments each week. This way you will get into a rhythm, and little by little you will lengthen the sessions.
Join groups
Clubs often offer groups of people by gender and level. Talk about it without shame because everyone started one day. Tournaments are also times when you meet new people, who can motivate you to excel.
Lessons
There is no age limit for taking classes. Taking classes does not mean that you are trying to become a padel star. Classes allow you to have a fixed appointment, individual or in a group, adapted to your physical abilities, which will push you to go beyond your expectations. And you will always learn something, like playing better, that's already not bad, right?
Forcing yourself to move
During a padel match, you can either remain passive or get active. Force yourself to be active on the court because padel is a perfect sport to work all parts of the body and therefore burn calories.
Complete with another activity
Try to combine padel with another physical activity if possible. This could be the gym, but also, more simply, running, walking or cycling. During the summer, coming on foot or by bike to play a padel match is really cool.
For those who like numbers, during an average padel match, we can burn up to 1000 calories. So be careful with the packet of crisps you will have during the post-match aperitif…
