For any fan who loves the padel, you know that the last few months have been marked by the absence of one of the greatest players in the history of padel world: Fernando Belasteguin. He had to end his season prematurely following a right elbow injury which was getting worse by the day. But it seems that the king of padel did not completely put his 2018 season aside.

Back on his injury

His last match on the professional circuit dates back to the second round of the Mijas tournament. When he finished this match he already knew he was going to spend some time away from the courts. padel. His return to the pro tour is delayed, and while rumors have it that he could return for Madrid's 2018 Estrella Damm Master, we really won't see him in full swing until next year.

So far he has spent almost three months without competition, where the legend of padel took the opportunity to continue his recovery. Recently we were able to see a video in which the player is training on a court of padel, and we see how he is slowly recovering in the field. With a lot of work already done, we observe that his return is no longer impossible, and that he did not take too long to recover.

Fernando Belasteguin: the legend

"Bela" was the world's number one padel for 16 years without interruption. There will be no 17th year since his absence has taken him down the rankings. Indeed, the current world number one are Maxi Sanchez and Sanyo Gutierrez who have confirmed their domination thanks to their results in recent tournaments.

Bela, will he come back? Many believe that the king will not return because of his elbow problem. But Bela made an announcement on camera of the World Padel Tour :

If it was my last year, the doctors would have infiltrated me, I would have finished the season with a broken tendon, and without having played padel. I think I have had a good level for several years, and that is why it is better to stop 3 or 4 months until I recover.

Fernando Belasteguin does not refrain from anything and we could well see him land at the Masters of World Padel Tour to Madrid. This would obviously be great news for everyone, although you shouldn't expect super BELA.

The other question that might arise is: With whom could he play? His partner, Pablo Lima, plays with Paquito Navarro. Will Lima re-play with BELA, or will BELA try to find another partner to participate in the Master.
