This Sunday, we will witness semi-finals in French colors at the FIP Rise Agrigento, in Italy, after the victories of Barsotti / Invernon and Maigret / Inzerillo this Saturday.

Maigret / Inzerillo unfold…

Among the men, it was the pair Maigret (163ᵉ FIP) / Inzerillo (138ᵉ FIP) who managed to win without much difficulty this Saturday during the quarter-finals. Facing Francisco Alameda Robles (214ᵉ FIP) and Adrian Martinez Galindo (291ᵉ FIP), the two Frenchmen won their ticket for the last four with a final score of 6/4 – 6/1. This afternoon, around 18:30 p.m., our two compatriots will face Oscar Vazquez Fernandez (495ᵉ FIP) and the Italian Cristian Calneggia (605ᵉ FIP) for a place in the final.

You have to be careful, because the ranking does not mean much, the third seed of the tournament will face the winning pair of the second seed of the tournament, Moreau / Florensa.

Barsotti / Invernon: a mental victory!

Among the ladies, Wendy Barsotti (183ᵉ FIP) and Elodie Invernon (189ᵉ FIP) will wear the French colors this Sunday. Led 4/1 in the last set, the two young players qualified yesterday in breathtaking suspense, winning 6/3 – 4/6 – 7/6 against the Hispano-Argentinian pair Montesi (179ᵉ FIP) / Cossio Capilla (149ᵉ FIP).

From 17:00 p.m. this afternoon, they will have to give their best against the 100% Dutch pair Hemmes (168ᵉ FIP) / Segou Jonker (144ᵉ FIP).

Unfortunately for Laura Buteau the adventure ends in the quarter-finals. The Nantaise was able to adapt during this competition and perform alongside her British partner. However, it wasn't enough as they lost on Saturday night to 1 seed Maaike Betz and Aitana Garcia Roman 4/6 – 3/6. On the men's side, the competition also ends for Julien Seurin (234) and Philémon Raichman (336) who are eliminated following their meeting against the pair Gonzalez (94) / Navarro Perez (130), seeded 1, 6/0 – 6/0.

As you will have understood, there are still two chances to see a new French pair in the final of a FIP Rise, as we saw yesterday with Melissa Martin in Egypt.
