Romain Taupin talks about training padel, the possible international future of the padel French and subsidies padel.

Training

This is the black spot of the FFT for the moment. Only tennis teachers with the BE can give tennis lessons. Padel. No player from Padel, even if he is champion of France, cannot give lessons of Padel in an affiliated or authorized FFT club.

Unfortunately, there is no sign of the creation of exclusively mentoring training Padel and everything suggests that it will not see the light of day tomorrow because the FFT has every interest in not opening training Padel to allow its tennis teachers to have more work by diversifying their teaching activities. I hope I am wrong, but it is clear that the FFT is not very dynamic on this subject.

This training monopoly has the consequence of weakening the level of Padel French and especially to train players who do not play at all Padel but more like a kind of tennis on a small court. The Padel is a sport distinct from tennis. Tennis teachers don't know how to play Padel, they know neither the technique, nor the strategy, nor the logic, nor the spirit of the Padel. So that they cannot actually teach the Padel.

Admit that if I told you that only tennis teachers can teach squash, you would say "How?" Why ? This is insane! »Well that's what happens for the Padel. Do you understand the aberration?

If we want to have a good level in this sport at the international level, it will obviously be necessary to put qualified teachers at the head of the schools of Padel and therefore a real training Padel within the FFT or within the BE Tennis.

The good news on the other hand, is that in private structures not authorized FFT, it is still possible for teachers purely Padel or players of Padel to give lessons without BE tennis.

Internationals from Padel Français

The director of the FFT said that the Padel French would have their internationals. He apparently has the ambition to create this tournament under his mandate, which can only bode well for the development of the sport.

The official sponsor.

The FFT has just signed a contract with the French group Babolat to support the development of Padel.

Grants for the development of Padel

The FFT does not directly help clubs to finance the construction of football pitches. Padel. On the other hand, tennis leagues can use their budget to help finance projects. Padel. The president of the League of Flanders spoke about it on Padel magazine in this article https://padelmagazine.fr/jean-luc-tenedos-5000e-par-terrain/.

For the moment, these aids will only be for tennis clubs. Private structures, even if empowered, will have to wait and develop their clubs with their own means.
