The Italy Major's first men's semi-final Premier Padel promised to be thrilling between the two best pairs of the moment. We expected a real epic duel, the reality turned out to be quite different : Coello and Tapia took their revenge and overthrew the Superpibes in two sets.

The Superpibes, worn and outdated

We can almost speak of a “black beast”. Indeed, this season, the Superpibes have lost almost every time to Coello and Tapia. However, the latter saw their series of invincibility on the WPT (46 consecutive victories) broken against these same Superpibes. Naturally, the public was eager to witness a rematch between these two pairs.

Since the start of the tournament, Stupa and Di Nenno are struggling to regain their momentum and encounter difficulties. Each match is laborious, and Carlos Pozzoni's players must qualify in three sets each time. It was obvious that the Argentines were going to be blunted this Saturday. On the other hand, Coello and Tapia were in great shape!

From the first set, the tone is set, the Superpibes are quickly broken. Coello and Tapia make no concessions and achieve a perfect start to the match. Physically, Martin and Stupa suffer. The first round is one-sided: 6/2.

Physically Worn Stupa Di Nenno

The burst of pride does not occur. Martin and Franco are overwhelmed in all areas of the game. However, they get break opportunities. Unfortunately for them, “the Mozart of Catamarca” and “King Arturo” remain solid. The opportunities are not seized, and behind the inevitable happens: it is the players of Carlos Pozzoni end up losing their service. Coello and Tapia are untouchable this afternoon.

The Hispano-Argentinian pair is totally liberated, but has difficulty concluding the meeting. After saving five match points, Stupa and Di Nenno lowered their arms and lost in two sets, 6/2 6/3. The Argentinians will not achieve the double on Premier Padel.

Since the return of Agustin Tapia, it was difficult to find the Coello/Tapia pair from the start of the season. Firstly because their unbeaten streak was broken and secondly because they are of again inclined in Valencia against Sanz and Galan.

This Saturday, Coello and Tapia dominated brilliantly. Although the Superpibes were physically exhausted, Arturo and Agus offered us a real attacking recital, delighting the Italian public. We feel that the two players have regained their passion, their insolence but above all their thirst for victory.

Sunday the Spanish-Argentinian pair are aiming to fill their trophy cabinet with a new title. Whatever happens, they will be favorites against the winners of the match between Chingotto/Navarro and Bela/Yanguas.
