In the second part, we share with you 5 tips around the theme of "taking the plane for your trip padel in Europe ".

In 3e pane, we recommend you 5 exercises to strengthen your ankles (very stressed joint) before leaving for an internship padel.

In this 4th part, we wish to clear up some possibilities available to you for an internship padel, with 5 things to keep in mind.

Stay home or go?

The question quickly arises when you want to take a step forward in your practice. Do I decide to start taking lessons in my club or near my home if my club does not have a coach or does not offer courses itself?

It is obvious that a player multiplying the game sessions and registering for a first tournament or looking for tutorials padel on the internet wishes to find the keys to progress and improve.

Like other sports such as golf, cycling or even football, padel does not escape the sporting activities that are practiced during the internship.

In the world of the little yellow ball, especially for the Europeans, it is then obvious that all eyes are on Spain, due to the quality and quantity of its high-level players but also of coaches and indoor/outdoor clubs.

The dilemma: internship in an academy or internship with a specialized tour operator?

Two major orientations are offered mainly to players looking for a padel : do it in an academy or via a specialized sports tour operator (TO).

Of course, other options resorts or tourist establishments (equipped with padel) exist but remain behind as of the date of the internship proposals.

Through two tables, we will try to:

– Dissect the characteristics of the two models

– Advance the advantages and limits of the two models

The academy and the specialized sports TO will in any case remove any doubts before sending you off and welcoming you.

They will need:

– For the academy: to have a first idea of your level of practice, country of origin, sports results in order to guide the level groups of the course.

– For the specialized sports TO: to get a first idea of your level of play to guide the educational content on site and find opponents who can match with you, but also anticipate the vagaries of the trip with the proposal of reassuring multi-risk insurance allowing the trainee to be fully committed to his sports holiday project (double expertise: sports and that of a tour operator).

That being said, what is your level of play if you fly to Spain for example?

La Toupie Bleue, since 2021, standardizes its categorization of players on the Spanish model. Thus, it is easier to work on common bases on the different destinations in Europe.

What is my level of play abroad?

There is no point in wanting to overestimate your true level of play, or on the contrary “to play the modest”. It will only be a waste of time for everyone:

– For you who will be lost at the beginning of the course.

– For the organizer, since even if he begins his courses with a real understanding of the level of each person's game, the level of play announced must make it possible to set the tone for the course and, if necessary, to orient its organisation.

After all, isn't it interesting to be challenged by a pair of the level below or to perform on a level above rather than being bored or "not seeing the light of day" for the whole match? ?

Levels of play in Spain:

Intensity VS flexibility

It is very important to have a precise idea of your expectations before embarking on a training course. padel. Your sporting ambitions, your current physical condition, your liabilities in other sporting practices are all parameters that must be exposed to the structure that will host you for the internship. Indeed, in the “co-construction” phase of your internship, it is important to identify your objectives yourself and ensure that the structure you are targeting has the capacity to meet your selection criteria.

In terms of course format, program and intensity, again everything will depend on your needs. Some players will aim above all for high performance, a bit like the very demanding pre-season in terms of energy, physical and psychological effort in order to launch a sports season.

Others, on the other hand, will want to go into exile far from their home ground, the one where they have their weekly habits, to get a change of scenery, discover new ways of playing padel or quite simply to be able to carry out a first work of introspection on their own game in a different routine.
Train at padel with the new eye of a coach who does not know you will also allow you to find new keys… we do not forget that your primary objective is to achieve “a leap in your practice”!

Finally, and there are more and more of you in this category of "travelling sportsmen", and this is also somewhat what happens in the end for the French top 100 with tournaments in destinations such as Reunion for example: playing padel, compete in an exotic environment where sports recovery will be found or simply allow you to optimize your free time in moments of relaxation / holidays and improving your level of play.

How much does an internship cost? padel ?

The price variable can be decisive in your choice of training course. padel. However, a price must always be reported:

  • the number of services offered in the course formula (also list the services not included)
  • the category of structure that welcomes you (a club, an academy, a specialized sports TO, a foreign entity, a private, etc.)
  • the level of assurances and legal legitimacy of the targeted entity
  • the tax establishment of the entity offering you this internship (French taxation is not the same as Spanish taxation for example)
  • at a level of service (very subjective, but Google reviews, recommendations from friends, approvals can guide your choice)

So your next "leap padel “, when are you planning it?
