THEOccitanie is the undisputed leading French league with 11,099 members padel in 2023. It is ahead of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur league and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine league.

Atypical: no club in the top 3

Element to take into consideration in the analysis: no club in the Occitanie league occupies one of the first 3 places of the most endowed clubs in terms of number of licensees. On the other hand, we realize that there are many clubs well endowed with licensees in the top 10 with a total of 3 clubs: 4PADEL Toulouse Colomiers occupies 4th place just ahead of Toulouse Padel Club in 5th position and Sète Padel Club in 7th position. We even find another club from the Occitanie league with an 11th place for WinWin Padel Nimes.

Let us recall in passing that two great international events took place until 2022: the FIP GOLD Perpignan and the FIP RISE Canet-en-Roussillon.

9 Occitanie clubs in the top 20

Still regarding the Occitanie league, in the top 20 clubs where there are the most licensees, 9 clubs come from the Occitanie league: quite a performance, especially when we know that there are a total of 13 leagues.

  • 4PADEL Toulouse-Colomiers
  • Toulouse Padel Club
  • Sète Padel Club
  • WinWin Padel Top of Nîmes
  • My Center Palavas
  • Tennis Padel Maul
  • Tennis / Padel Vière Club
  • Béziers Padel Club
  • The Club du Mas in Perpignan.

The PACA league in second position

In second position, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur league has 8,452 members. This league is particularly astonishing and we will explain to you why.

THERE is only one PACA league club in the top 10: Tennis / Padel Club Toulonnais in 5th place.

The next club in the PACA league is only in 20th position with Tennis / Padel Bandol Club.

A 3rd place for the Nouvelle-Aquitaine league

The PACA league is a little ahead of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine league with 7,987 licensees. It's the Big Padel who leads the dance without much surprise in this league, in front of the Padel Club Agen in 16th position. In the top clubs, we nevertheless find the 4PADEL Bordeaux, Padel Touch Arcachon and the 4PADEL La Rochelle, respectively in 18th, 19th, and 20th position.

ARA is ahead of the IDF

For 4th place, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes league has a small lead over the Île-de-France league with 6,368 licensees compared to 5,565 licensees for the IDF.

The other leagues are off the table for the moment. The 6th league is that of Hauts-de-France with 3,134 members. This is almost half as much as the IDF.

As described in a previous post, we will note that the fewer there are licensees in a league, the higher the number of average points accumulated per licensed player. This means that it is a little easier to have a good ranking in leagues where there are fewer players.

This trend is not applicable for the first 5 leagues. Indeed, we even observe a slightly opposite trend. In the Île-de-France region, it seems more difficult to have a good ranking compared to Occitanie. However, as you have noted, the differences are too small to really say that one league is stronger than another in the top 5 of the most supplied leagues in terms of number of licensees.
