A promising duo has just been announced: Carla Touly / Jessica Ginier. Freshly separated from Charlotte Soubrié, Carla shares with us her objectives for this new collaboration with Jessica.

Two players who know each other well

“I still remember the first time I faced Jessica on the courts: it was during the final of the Lyon Senior Tennis Championships. Since we are both from the same league, our paths have crossed many times. It’s incredible to think that today we will face the challenges of this new season together. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish.”

A special season ahead

“Playing this season with Jessica, especially if it’s potentially her last, is an honor for me. I want to make this season unforgettable for her. My goal is to help him experience unique emotions, to create memories together that will mark his career.

If she ever decides to stop, I want her to do so with great memories. Of course, deep down, I hope she doesn't say goodbye to padel. My personal challenge is to motivate her to continue, to push her limits, even if, in the end, she will do what seems best to her.”

The objectives of the season

“This season, my objectives are clear. I want to participate in all possible FIPs to accumulate as many points as possible and qualify for P1, P2 and Majors. It’s a big challenge, but I’m ready to dedicate myself to it fully. Jessica, for her part, is motivated by the desire to relive the emotions she had last year, particularly at Roland-Garros. She won everything in France so she wants to experience great emotions abroad.

However, given her responsibilities as a mother, coach and wife, Jessica will not be able to participate in all tournaments. For those that take place far away, I will probably play with another partner, probably a foreign player. In any case, I can’t wait to see how far Jess and I can go together.”

“Apart from tournament-related goals, my main goal for this year is to continue to improve every day. Working with Jessica is a good opportunity for me, her experience in padel will help me develop my skills.

We plan to train in Lyon before we leave for Sweden to refine our game. I will also take the opportunity to recharge my batteries with my family and friends in Lyon. Jessica is also open to the idea of coming to train with me in Barcelona, despite the challenges it presents for her.”
