Pablo Ayma is satisfied with start of competition of its players. The French coach goes to the microphone of Padel Magazine in Dubai to analyze the first two meetings.

A very good start

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: What is the assessment of these first two matches?

Pablo Ayma:"Yesterday we had to play a difficult match against Mexico. It was a way for us to see how we had acclimatized. The fact of having come to Dubai a few days before was very beneficial. So we won 3-0 with some great wins. Today, the matches were a priori more affordable, but Egypt fought well. We also win 3-0.”

A final against Paraguay

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: How are the players physically on the eve of having to play two games in the same day?

Pablo Ayma :“The players are doing well. I just think that Thomas Leygue had a heatstroke for part of the match, but the team held up well. Today was warmer than yesterday but the games were quicker. Tomorrow we actually have to play two games in the same day. We have an easier match in the morning against Qatar, but the group final will be played against Paraguay in the afternoon.”

Goal half

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: We see that you never have the same team composition. Do you have a hierarchy in mind?

Pablo Ayma:“There are many things to consider. First, the heat. Second, don't overload players. Third, change orders to destabilize opponents' tactics. Fourth, analyze opponents' matches to put players whose playing characteristics could hurt opposing pairs. And finally, you have to take into account the playing conditions and the hours of the day. Big spikers need to play as early as possible as the track slows down after dark.”

Lorenzo Lecci Lopez: Can we reach the semi-finals?

Pablo Ayma:"Sure. We started very well. Everything will be played against Paraguay. If we finish first in the group, we will have great options. If we finish second, it will be more complicated.”
