Meeting today with Dionisio Ugalde, responsible padel for a whole new brand of pala, Oxdog, straight from Sweden.

“Our first collection”

"Oxdog is a Swedish company that originally comes from hockey. It is a discipline that is widely practiced in the country. This company was created twelve years ago. Since its beginnings, its ambitions have been to manufacture quality products equipped with the best technologies.

“I was contacted two years ago when I was working in Spain in the field of e-commerce in the sector of padel. The brand explained to me its desire to get into the pala industry. So I went to Sweden to meet them. The company executives I was in contact with showed me their know-how and we created a five-year strategy. For three years we have developed various technologies and today we have our first collection”.

Stronger palates with less vibration

"The padel is booming on European soil. Before embarking on this new adventure, we already had an important background in manufacturing based on carbon fiber and glass.. In addition we wanted to develop in a new sport and the padel is exploding in Sweden and Europe.”

“As you can see we decided not to weave our carbon fiber in the usual way. This gives the pala more strength and durability. We also added two weights, one in the head and the other at the neck. This is removable if needed. For the moment we only have a single weight of 8g but we are thinking of developing others".

“We want that when the player tries one of our racquets he has a good feeling and that he can take advantage of the fact that there is no vibration or dull noise. At first they think it's weird but after the 5th shot they think it's pleasant and the pala reacts much more quickly”.

Ramiro Choya luxury collaborator of the brand Oxdog

“Create a dream-team with top players”

“We have to take it step by step and our objective is based on five years. We would like to be in the Top 5 brands. Currently we collaborate with Ramiro Choya. The idea would be to create a dream-team with top players from several countries such as France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden etc. We want to do things right and not go too fast. Our product is good, it's just a matter of time. We want to carry out this development with good logic and not bet everything on a single player. Today we promote our collection internationally. We were in Sweden, in Italy to promote the brand. In Spain we have various centers where we lend our racquets for testing. If players like our products great, otherwise it doesn't matter. But for the moment these palas meet a good success”.
