Come with us, we train you in a club of padel like you've never seen before...

When you push the door, it feels a bit like Maxime Le Forestier's song, "San Francisco": It's a blue house / Leaning against the hill / We come there on foot / We don't knock / Those who live there / Have thrown away the key.

Here, the lyrics would rather be “It's a pink track / Backed by the border / We come there by bike / We don't pay too much / Those who play there / Have found the key…” This club padel is located in Basel, Switzerland, a few meters from the Rhine and the French border.

Between 7 a.m. and midnight

Appointed Klybeck, it is installed in a former industrial building, at the heart of chemical industrial sites. In recent years, the place has become an alternative place, on the border between culture and sport, France and Switzerland. And since 2017, we can play it at padel on a single track, pink in color, at new times, between 7 a.m. and midnight!

Arriving on site, no employee who welcomes you and makes you pay, but a sign with the rules of the club: 1. Welcome; 2. Welcome others; 3. Sweat; 4. Laugh; 5. Pay attention to equipment; 6. Take care of your outfit. Play with style; 7. Respect the costs/contribute to the costs; 8. Come back to play. talk about padel around you.

And to pay, how does it work? Well in the Swiss way: a piggy bank allows you to slip in your coins or banknotes, to pay for the land… and free access to drinks in a refrigerator. Here, trust reigns and it's fun!

Rackets and balls provided

And believe it or not, the hour of play costs only 7 Swiss francs (about 8 euros), cheaper than in most private clubs in France. Better still, every Tuesday evening from 19 p.m. to midnight, the practice is free: even the rackets (displayed on a wall of the most beautiful effect) and the balls are provided.

Rackets are freely available and loaned to players who do not have one Photo DR

This unique state of mind makes Klybeck a very special place, which is as much a place to meet and socialize as a sports club. A place that resembles Basel, a city where all languages are spoken and where multiple nationalities meet on a daily basis.

Moreover, the place is so popular that it can also be privatized to organize festive, fun and/or sporting evenings.

You like the idea. Well know that the land of padel de Klybeck has a twin, also in Basel: the Dreispitz, located south of Saint-Jacques station, is managed by the same association, Padel Basel. The land of padel, also pink, has been installed since October 2021 in a typical Swiss building: a wooden chalet more than a century old (see photo below).
