The Reserve Cup is a brand new tournament, on the other side of the Atlantic, in Miami. It brings together the biggest names in padel : Lebron, Stupaczuk, Galan, Tello, etc. However, its operation differs from that of the competitions we usually see.

The Reserve Cup is very different from a stage of the World Padel Tour, Premier Padel or even a world championship. To explain all this to us, who better than Nallé GrindaFounder Padel X and specialist in padel in the USA ? The latter helps us better understand this extraordinary competition.

The Reserve Cup is a tournament played by teams. Seven players represent a group and are coached by a captain. The latter has the obligation to have played, at least one time, the seven players on his team.

If we want a comparison, it's a bit like the Laver Cup in tennis. On the first day, Friday, victories pay off 1 points to their team. Saturday, every meeting will be worth 2 point. And on Sunday, the last opposition of the tournament will allow the victorious pair to win 3 point.

As Nallé Grinda explains to us, the captains play their lowest ranked players on the first day. Reason why we were able to see a Lebron/Garrido or a Galan/Rubio. On Sunday, it is likely that only the best players will be on display.

Finally, the team with the most points will win this Reserve Cup. After which, it will be up to the captain to redistribute the prize money to the players. Knowing that the more the player played et won matches, the higher your winnings at the end of the tournament will be!

Note that exceptionally, this Saturday's matches start earlier to make up for the delay, related to rain, taken during the day on Friday.
