Today, there are few people who have never heard of padel. The sport has spread and become more democratic all over the globe, competitions are becoming international and everyone can enjoy the show.
In the same way, a – very – large number of countries are starting to really give the discipline its place. We see in the Nordic countries the place that padel has taken in recent years. Italy of course, but also France are territories where the sport is growing. Even in slightly more unusual places, padel has found its place. Like a dodo, the totem bird of the archipelago, padel has made its nest in Mauritius.
Matteo Zinno, one of the founders of the Padel League in Mauritius, announced in a recent interview that the number of 2.000 players had been exceeded. Of course, this may seem insignificant, however, for an island located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, this figure is particularly encouraging.
Faced with the growth of players and clubs, la Padel League was created. It makes it possible to bring together all the tournaments, with an annual calendar and, of course, the establishment ofa national ranking. There, we find six tournament categories : M1000, M500, M250, M125, M50 and M25.

Still with the aim of democratizing padel on the island, the sport was attached to the Mauritius Squash Rackets Federations (MSRA).
In addition, Mauritius should host, at the end of the year, a stage of the FIP Tour: the FIP Star Island Padel. For the moment, no information has been given as to the date of the tournament but we can clearly see that things are moving among the Mauritians!

It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
