The news is linked but does not look alike. After an interesting interview between the International Olympic Committee and the International Federation of Padel 2 days ago, The Programs Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) met yesterday in Lausanne to validate the proposals of the OCOG (Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games) for Paris 2024.

The additional sports in Paris 2024 could be: breakdance, climbing, skateboarding and surfing.

But is not yet registered. Far from there.

The opinion of the OCOG and the validation of the IOC Program Commission do not have the mission to definitively validate these 4 sports for Paris.

These 4 sports will then be submitted to the IOC Executive Board which will meet from 26 to 28 March in Lausanne.

If the IOC Executive Board validates these 4 sports, it will be the beginning of a great reflection on these sports from June to make a final decision 2020 end.

FIP and the French institutions that support the padel therefore still have a little time to organize themselves to integrate the padel at the PARIS 2024 Olympics.

Can there be a 5th additional sport at the 2024 Olympics? A priori no. The padel, but also and especially karate and squash could be the big losers in this story ...

But for now, there is still hope.
