Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello started the WPT Malmö Open ideally by dominating in two sets two players who benefited from a wild-card : the Spaniard Sara Ruiz and the Swedish Amanda Girdo. Alix thus took her revenge against the Swede, 77th in the world: associated with Carolina Navarro in Dubai, they had made short work of the French n°1 and Charlotte Soubrié (6/1 6/0).

But today in the round of 1 in Malmö, the scenario was quite different, with four breaks obtained by Collombon / Castello and none conceded. On arrival, they qualified for the eighth on the score of 16/6 3/6 in just over an hour of play.

It will be more complicated in the next round against the seeded 4, Virginie Riera and Pati Llaguno.

Previously this Wednesday, Léa Godallier and Carolina Orsi – after their victory yesterday in previas – suffered the law of the Alayeto sisters, seeded n°8 in the table. After a first set where they did not exist, the Frenchwoman and her teammate were able to raise their heads in the second. But an unwelcome break was fatal to them, resulting in a 6/0 6/4 defeat. Despite everything, this first WPT tournament played on the left, with a new partner, turned out to be promising for the French n°2.
